Lontreau's Sustainable Commitment

Everyday, consumers are becoming increasingly conscious of the environmental footprint of the products they use. At Lontreau, we understand the importance of preserving our planet for future generations, and we also understand the negative impact businesses can have on our environment. One of the key pillars of our sustainability efforts lies in our packaging. Unlike many other skincare brands, we have opted for metal-free packaging that is entirely recyclable. This decision was made with the intention of minimizing waste and making it easier for our customers to do their part in recycling. What sets our packaging apart is that it can be disposed of directly into recycling bins, without the need for disassembly or separation. This is a stark contrast to traditional airless pumps, which often contain metal springs that render them non-recyclable.

We are also proud to be a part of 1% for the Planet, an organization dedicated to supporting environmental initiatives around the globe. As members of this organization, we pledge to donate 1% of our revenue each year to environmental causes. This commitment allows us to contribute to projects that promote sustainability, conservation, and environmental awareness.

In addition to our partnership with 1% for the Planet, we are also actively involved in the rePurpose Global Plastic Negative Initiative. This innovative program goes beyond traditional carbon offsetting by addressing the issue of plastic pollution directly. Here's how it works: we calculate the amount of plastic waste generated by our operations each year and collaborate with rePurpose Global to remove 2.5 times that amount of plastic from the environment. 

Last year alone, we helped remove over 183 pounds of plastic waste from the earth through our partnership with rePurpose Global. Our contributions support waste workers at Project Neela Sapana, who are instrumental in the success of the Plastic Negative Program. We are immensely proud to be a part of this initiative and to play a role in tackling the global plastic crisis.

In addition to our sustainable packaging and our commitment to environmental initiatives, we also prioritize the use of sustainably sourced ingredients in our products whenever we can. An example of this is one of our key ingredients which is produced with upcycled cranberries.
